Joe Kennedy Joins Wildcats Hoop Team

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Carmody announced today that Joe Kennedy (Glenview, Ill./Loyola Academy) has joined the Wildcats as a walk-on.
Kennedy has transferred to Northwestern from DePaul University, where he was a freshman last year. He never participated in the Blue Demons' basketball program, which allows him to be eligible immediately at Northwestern.
Kennedy played his high school ball locally at Loyola Academy, where he was a four-year letterwinner and All-Catholic League as a guard senior year. He led the Ramblers to conference and regional titles as a junior.
Kennedy's father is Pat Kennedy, who was men's basketball coach at DePaul University from 1997-2002. Kennedy compiled a 67-85 mark as the Blue Demons' head coach, and led them to the NCAA Tournament in 2000 and the NIT second round in 1999. Kennedy-who was head coach at Iona College (N.Y.) and Florida State before arriving at DePaul-is entering his second year as head coach at Montana.
