Volleyball to Host Wildcat Classic This Weekend

EVANSTON, Ill. - After opening the season with three straight tournaments on the road, the Northwestern women's volleyball team finally gets the opportunity to play on its home court this weekend as it hosts the annual Wildcat Classic. All six matches will be played in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The Wildcats (5-4 overall) will open play on Friday night when they take on local rival DePaul University (2-8) at 7 p.m. The first match of the invitational will pit Loyala-Chicago (4-3) against Harvard University (1-3) beginning at 5 p.m.
The invitational will conclude with four matches on Saturday. Northwestern will take on Loyola-Chicago at 10 a.m. and wraps up play when it faces Harvard at 7 p.m.
Northwestern is the defending champion of the Classic, having won the title in 2000. The 2001 invitational was canceled due to the Sept. 11 tragedies.

Saturday
Northwestern vs. Loyola-Chicago, 10 a.m.
DePaul vs. Harvard, noon
