Football Home Opener Will Be Heroes' Day

EVANSTON, Ill.-In an effort to honor the memory of the Sept. 11 tragedy, Northwestern University Athletics has announced that its Sept. 7 football home-opener will be "Heroes' Day."

All uniformed police, fire and military personnel and their immediate families will be admitted free to Ryan Field for the Wildcats' game against TCU. Kickoff is set for noon.

Uniformed personnel, who will enter through Gate J with their families that day, may be asked to present official identification from their organization upon admission. "Heroes' Day" is not valid with any other promotion or previously purchased tickets.
