Northwestern's Spring Football Season is Underway

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern University began its spring football season Thursday, April 4 with a 4 p.m. practice. The spring season culminates at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 with the annual Spring Game. Watch for the first spring update on Monday evening (April 8).
"We're excited about getting started," said fourth-year head coach Randy Walker. "We've made some real progress in the weight room. I've been impressed not only with the younger guys who you would expect to see great gains, but also our older guys who have been in the program for three or four years."
All spring football practices are open to members of the media, with the exception of the three practice sessions just prior to the spring game -- April 22, April 23 and April 25. All weekday practices begin at 4 p.m. while the three Saturday practice times will be announced at a later date.
We urge you to contact the media services department prior to attending any practice session, to confirm location and time. The coaching staff may make last-minute schedule changes due to weather, academic schedules, etc. Practices held inside (Trienens Indoor Facility) are closed to the general public.

* Thursday, April 4 * Friday, April 5 * Saturday, April 6 * Monday, April 8 * Tuesday, April 9 * Thursday, April 11 * Saturday, April 13 (Coaches' Clinic) * Monday, April 15 * Saturday, April 16 * Thursday, April 18 * Saturday, April 20 * Saturday, April 27 (Spring Game, 1 p.m.)A reminder that all interviews are done at the conclusion of practice. Also, video and still photographers may shoot the first 15 minutes of practice as well as any pre-practice activity.
