EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Carmody today announced the signing of Vince Scott (Phoenix, Ariz./Greenway) to a National Letter of Intent. He becomes the first signee for the Wildcats this year.

A 6-foot-10 center, Scott will matriculate at Northwestern in 2003 and be eligible to play for the Wildcats next season.

"We are excited that Vince has decided to join our program," said Carmody. "We think he is a pretty complete player-he dribbles well, he passes well, he can shoot from the outside well, and he has a good inside game. With the loss of Aaron Jennings next year, Vince also brings us size that is necessary to compete in the Big Ten. Vince has a good understanding of the game, and we think his best basketball days are ahead of him."
