EVANSTON, Ill. - As crisp fall weather heads into the Chicago area, the Northwestern volleyball team heads west for a tournament in sunny California this weekend.

The 'Cats departed Wednesday for the Nike Pacific Challenge, which will be hosted by University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif.

Northwestern will face two defending conference champions in the event -- George Washington (0-3) of the Atlantic 10 and No. 8 Pacific (5-1) of the Big West. The University of Connecticut (4-0) will also compete in the tournament.

Last weekend, the Wildcats took second at the Deacon Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., defeating East Carolina (3-0) and Mississippi State (3-1) before falling to host Wake Forest (3-0). Freshman setter Drew Robertson (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly) and sophomore outside hitter Molly Kamp (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore) were named to the All-Tournament team.
