Women's Volleyball on the Road Again

EVANSTON, Ill. - Coming off a huge weekend at home, the Northwestern volleyball team takes off for matches against Illinois and Indiana this weekend.
The Wildcats (5-3, 2-0 Big Ten) defeated both Michigan and Michigan State last weekend at Welsh-Ryan Arena to open up the home season and Big Ten Conference play.
Friday night the 'Cats are in Champaign to take on the Fighting Illini (6-3, 0-2), who are on a three-game skid. The last time Northwestern won at Illinois was in 1984.
Saturday night's match at Indiana (3-6, 0-2) will open up FOX Sports Chicago's coverage of Big Ten volleyball for the 2001 season. The match will be broadcast Monday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. CST on FOX Sports Chicago.
For fans who wish to listen to Saturday night's match in Bloomington, Indiana student radio station WIUS will provide a live feed of their broadcast using RealPlayer from their website, www.indiana.edu/~wius/audio.html.
Northwestern currently leads the Big Ten in blocks per game, averaging 3.20. Sophomore middle blocker Erika Lange (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) leads the team with 2.97 kills per game and 1.55 blocks per game. Sophomore Molly Kamp (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore) has recorded a double-double in each weekend of play this season.
