Northwestern Women's Volleyball Television Schedule Announced

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference released its 2001 women's volleyball television schedule Monday, and the Northwestern Wildcats are on tap for one televised road match this season.

Fox Sports Chicago will broadcast the Sept. 29 match between Northwestern and Indiana in Bloomington. The tape-delay broadcast will run at 7 p.m. CST on Monday, Oct. 1.

The Fox Sports Chicago Big Ten volleyball broadcasts are annually seen in 18 million Midwest and Eastern homes. In addition to the eight matches televised by Fox Sports Chicago, ESPN2 will carry three Big Ten matches this season.

Head coach Keylor Chan is excited about the idea of a televised match, saying Northwestern has always fared well in those situations. Chan credits the exciting atmosphere of a televised match to the Wildcats' increased level of play.
