KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wildcats were back at it today, this time in full pads. The 'Cats completed their first practice in full pads this morning. NU's afternoon session, in half pads, was shortened when rain and thunderstorms rolled through Kenosha.

"It's never a thing of beauty," said Head Coach Randy Walker on today's first full pad practice. "It takes some getting used to. Carrying that lumber around makes you a little lethargic at times and not as crisp because you're 20 pounds heavier.

We built into the contact slowly. We didn't do a whole lot of full go, but we had a couple pretty good goes. Our intensity and spirit continues to be very strong. It was a good positive practice."

The Wildcats will continue their two-a-day sessions through Thursday and then prepare for a preseason scrimmage at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25.
