Pro Tennis Star Todd Martin to Conduct Clinic

EVANSTON, Ill. - Todd Martin, a former Northwestern standout and currently one of the top players on the pro tennis circuit, will be in Evanston this Saturday, August 18, to conduct a clinic and exhibition.

The clinic, which is being presented by the Northwestern Tennis Camps, will run from 1-4 p.m. at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center on Sheridan Road in Evanston. The event is open to the public, and free admission will be given to all junior tennis players aged 16 and under.

Martin has been a member of the U.S. Davis Cup Team for many years, and was a finalist at the 1999 U.S. Open. He played under current NU mentor Paul Torricelli, winning the Big Ten singles title in 1990 and earning All-Big Ten honors two times. He led the 1990 Wildcat team to the Big Ten team championship and a spot in the NCAA Round of 16.
