Senior men's tennis player Brad Erickson (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) was presented the Vandy Christie Award as voted on by his teammates and coaches. Erickson is the first recipient to receive the award more than once. When he won the award in 1999 he was the youngest player ever to receive the award.

The Vandy Christie Award was established in 1989 and is named in honor of former NU player, coach and administrator. It is awarded annually by the Baseline Club to the player that demonstrates outstanding loyalty and dedication to Wildcat tennis.

Erickson was a four year letterwinner and captain of the squad his junior and senior year. In his tenure, he compiled an overall record of 70-61 and was a two-time All-Big Ten selection. His career highlights include a 3-1 record at the ITA Region IV tournament in 2000, and winning the Boilermaker Classic in 1998.
