Softball Falls to Wisconsin, 6-2

EVANSTON, Ill. -
The Northwestern softball team fell to Wisconsin in conference action on Saturday, 6-2, at Anderson Field. The Badgers scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back in taking the win.
Junior Erin Jancic (Houston, Texas/Alief Elsik) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs. She scored the `Cats' first run in the bottom of the first inning off a double by sophomore Alyson Schulz (San Diego, Calif./Serra). Wisconsin added a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to go up 6-1, before the `Cats answered with one run in the fifth inning when sophomore pitcher Lauren Schwendimann (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) had a pinch-hit single to bring home Jancic.
Sophomore Brie Brown (Nashville, Tenn./Harputh Hall) pitched a complete game, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out two.
Northwestern's record falls to 13-14 overall, 4-3 in conference action. The `Cats host Wisconsin again on Sunday at 1 p.m.
