The Northwestern softball team fell to Ohio State, 3-2, Sunday at Buckeye Field in Columbus, Ohio. The Wildcats dropped their record to 9-13 overall and 2-2 in the Big Ten.

A sacrifice fly from sophomore Andria Caruthers (Inglewood, Calif./Westchester) brought home junior Erin Jancic (Houston, Texas/alief Elsik) to tie the score.
In the eighth inning, the first Buckeye batter was walked and then advanced to second on a passed ball. Two batters later, OSU's Kristine Himes singled to right center, allowing teammate Kristi DeVries to score from second base.
Jancic opened the bottom of the eighth with a double, but Chain set down the next three batters she faced to secure the win.
Sophomore Brie Brown (Nashville, Tenn./Harputh Hall) took the loss for the `Cats. She allowed six hits and struck out two in six innings of work.
