EVANSTON, Ill. - Three members of the Northwestern men's swimming competed in Friday's prelims at the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas. Freshman Tony Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) swam the 400 individual medley, sophomore Kellan O'Connor (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy Preparatory) swam the 100 butterfly and freshman Aaron McCracken (Naperville, Ill./Central) swam the 100 breaststroke.

Swanson, who earned All-America honors Thursday with a seventh-place finish in the 200 individual medley, was seeded 26th in the 400 individual medley. His time of 3:53.34 placed him 25th.

O'Connor, seeded 38th in the 100 butterfly, swam a 48.61 in prelims to finish 29th. On Thursday, he placed 23rd in the 200 individual medley.

McCracken made his first appearance of the week, as he swam the 100 breaststroke in a time of 54.88. His 17th seed remained unchanged after his swim, in which he finished 17th - one place away from swimming in Friday evening's consolation final.

Swimming action finishes on Saturday as Swanson swims the 200 backstroke, O'Connor swims the 200 butterfly and McCracken swims the 200 breaststroke. Prelims begin at noon.
