Softball Opens Season at Louisville Slugger Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. - The women's softball team opened their season in Tampa, Fla., at the Louisville Slugger Invitational, posting a 2-2 record. On Friday they lost to Florida Atlantic, 5-1, but came back to beat host South Florida in extra innings, 2-1. On Saturday, the Wildcats fell to Arizona 5-0. The game was delayed in the fourth inning due to rain, and their game against Hawaii was moved to Sunday. On Sunday, the Wildcats finished the tournament with a win against Hawaii, 4-1. Their game against Tennessee, scheduled for noon on Sunday, was canceled due to the inclement weather on Saturday that backed up all games. Individual game recaps will be posted as information becomes available.
