NEW YORK, N.Y. (AP) - William "Smush" Parker scored 21 points and Fordham, despite scoring only one field goal over the final four minutes, beat Northwestern 63-60 Saturday at Madison Square Garden to snap the Wildcats' six-game winning streak.

Freshman guard Adrian Walton, who left the team for personal reasons for one game early in the season and missed the last game with an injured shoulder, had all the points in a 6-2 run that gave the Rams (4-4) the lead for good.

Walton, who came in averaging 2.8 points, made two free throws with 6:11 left to put the Rams up 52-51. He converted a steal into a layup 11 seconds later and then scored on a drive that made it 56-53. He finished with eight points.

Winston Blake hit a 3 with 3:05 left that brought Northwestern (7-2) within 61-56. Taveras Hardy and Jitim Young scored on offensive rebounds to bring the Wildcats within 61-60 with 24 seconds left.

Teremun Johnson converted a layup on a fastbreak to give the Rams a 63-60 lead with 19 seconds left, but he missed the free throw for the three-point play.

Jason Burke missed a 3 that was knocked out of bounds. Blake's 3-point try just before the buzzer was short.

Johnson had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Fordham, while Steve Canal had 13 rebounds as the Rams finished with a 50-33 advantage on the boards.

Young led Northwestern with 18 points, while Blake had 15. Only five players scored for the Wildcats, who finished 10-for-27 from 3-point range.

The game, played at Madison Square Garden, was the first ever meeting between the schools.
