Davis, a member of the 2002 National Junior team, took seventh place in the 400 IM at the Summer Nationals. He has earned All-America honors seven times and is the Washington state champion in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle entering his senior year.
His 2001 world rankings include 69th in the 800 free, 88th in the 400 IM, and 98th in the 1,500 free. Davis was also named the Pacific Northwest Swimming Male Athlete of the Year and was the Northwest Sectional High Point Winner in 2001.
Davis has qualified for the state finals each of the past three years and for the Olympic Trials twice. He has also qualified to compete in the 2002 National competition in the 400 IM, 800 Free and 1,650 Free.
As part of relay teams, Davis has earned four All-America honors and finished in the top three in the state in the 200 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Free.
"Brian is a very versatile swimmer, and we think he'll add a lot of dimension to the team," Groseth said. "He is definitely a potential NCAA qualifier. We're excited to have him."
The 6'2" senior, who will captain his high school team this season, competes for the Issaquah Swim club team under the direction of Kyle Johnson.
Davis is the son of Teresa and Chip Davis. His younger sister Sarah, also a competitive swimmer, posted All-America consideration times last season.
