Men's Tennis Fares Well at Rocket Indoor Invite

EVANSTON, Ill. - Junior Jackie Jenkins (College Park, Ga./Westlake) and freshman Chuck Perrin (Atlanta, Ga./The Walker School) each represented Northwestern in a final at the Rocket Indoor Invitational at the University of Toledo this weekend.
Jenkins was defeated in the final of the Singles A bracket by DePaul's Jevgenij Cariov (6-7, 6-2, 6-3). He advanced to the final by defeating his teammate, Ryan Edlefsen (Eden Prarie, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson), in the semifinal round (7-5, 7-5).
Perrin competed in the Singles B bracket, where he fell to Toledo's Pete Baghdati (7-6[6], 6-2) in the final game.
In doubles action, the duo of juniors Josh Axler (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) and Russell Bennett (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) won the B bracket. They defeated Wild/Kossoff of Bowling Green, the team that had knocked out NU's team of Perrin and Ahmed Wahla (Lahore Pakistan/Lahore American School), by a score of 8-2.
