Men's Soccer Loses to Marquette, 3-0

Evanston, Ill. - The Marquette Golden Eagles outshot the Northwestern men's soccer team 13-4 en route to a 3-0 win at Lakeside Field Wednesday afternoon.
MU dominated the ball for the majority of play, but the 'Cats defense was able to hold off the Golden Eagles until the 40th minute. With five minutes to play in the first, Zach McCallum knocked in a Theran Motl corner kick to open the scoring and give Marquette a 1-0 lead at the break. The goal was McCallum's first of the year.
The Golden Eagles doubled their lead in the opening minutes of the second half. Brian Schnell fired a throw in right in front of the goal where Chris Lee was waiting. Lee headed the pass into the back of the NU net.
MU controlled the game the second half of play, earning a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks and outshooting the 'Cats 6-2.
McCallum's struck again in the 71st minute with his second goal of the contest and the year. McCallum put back a Joe Roedler miss to give the Golden Eagles the 3-0 road victory.
The 'Cats are away this Friday as they travel to Western Michigan for a 3 p.m. game.
