Women's Volleyball Wraps Up Four-Match Homestand Friday

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern volleyball team wraps up four consecutive home matches Friday night as they host Big Ten opponent Purdue.
The Wildcats (6-7, 3-4 Big Ten) are coming off a thee game loss to No. 6 Wisconsin Wednesday in the fieldhouse at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The Boilermakers, although still tenth in the Big Ten, picked up their second win of the season Tuesday, defeating IUPUI. PU is now 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the Big Ten.
One of NU's statistical leaders is junior Sarah Ballog (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita), who is hitting .402 and averaging 2.40 kills per game against Big Ten teams.
The Wildcats still lead the Big Ten in blocking with a 3.09 average per game. Sophomore middle blocker Erika Lange (Orland Park,Ill./Sandburg) is averaging 1.50 blocks and 2.91 kills per game.
For Purdue, Maegan Peterson leads the team with 2.80 kills and 2.53 digs per game.
Friday's match also marks the last time NU expects to play in McGaw Fieldhouse while the main court in Welsh-Ryan Arena undergoes repairs. The main court is scheduled to be ready by Nov. 1, and the 'Cats are next in action at home on Nov. 2.
