EAST LANSING, Mich. -
The Northwestern Men's Swimming and Diving squads defeated Michigan State on Saturday, 108-81.
The Wildcats won nine of the 13 events contested. Freshman Tony Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) was a double winner, taking victories with season best times in the 200 individual medley (1:52.74) and the 200 backstroke (1:50.63). Elliot Massuda (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) took victories in the 1-meter (292.05) and 3-meter (289.20) diving events, setting season best scores in each.
Other winners for Northwestern were Chris Meyer in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.78), Nick Barnes in the 50 freestyle (21.28), Kellan O'Connor in the 200 butterfly (1:51.12), Steve Steketee in the 100 freestyle (46.01) and the 400 freestyle relay consisting of Swanson, Adam Kennedy, Jason Merchant and Steketee.
The Northwestern men's squad is now 3-2 overall, 2-2 in conference action.
