The Northwestern field hockey team lost to Ohio State in overtime, 1-0, Friday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio. Colleen Hotz (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) scored for the Wildcats in the first half, but the Buckeyes fought back to tie the score in the first minute of the second stanza with a goal by Vanessa Immordino.
In overtime, Buckey Marlje van Nouhuys found the goal to give OSU the win. The Wildcats didn't get a shot on goal in either the second half or overtime.
Jessica Yates (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) recorded nine saves, which made her the new career saves leader at Northwestern.
