
Field Hockey Falls in First Overtime to Ohio University

The Northwestern field hockey team fell in overtime for the second time in as many games over the weekend. NU fell to Ohio University in the first overtime by a score of 2-1 in Columbus, Ohio.
Scoring for Northwestern was Wendy Roberts (Toldeo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) when she took a pass from Nicole Smith (Warnbro, Western Australia/Como Senior) and fired it past goalkeeper Tara Elliot to tie the score at 1-1.
Ohio opened the scoring just two minutes into the game when Amanda Voros completed a direct corner for Jill Appleby and Brea Webster.
In the second half, a total of eight shots on goal were taken, three by NU and five by OU. Just seven minutes into the sudden death overtime, Voros took a path from Lauren Mozziotto and skipped it past the outstretched arms of NU's goalkeeper Jessica Yates (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) to give Ohio University the 2-1 victory.
Yates saved four in the game upping her season total to 72.
