SUMMARY - The Northwestern field hockey team picked up its first win of the season defeating Michigan State in the first overtime by a score of 2-1. Lindsay Wright (St. Catherines, Ont./Ridley College) scored the game winner just 32 seconds after the overtime whistle was blown to begin play. Wright had two shots on goal in the game, both coming in the extra period. Nicole Smith (Warnbro, Western Australia/Como Senior) got the `Cats into the scoring column late in the second half on a direct corner set up by Wendy Roberts (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) and Jodie Condie (St. Louis, Mo./Villa Duchesne). The win evens Northwestern's record at 1-1.
