Field Hockey Loses to Louisville, 2-0

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern field hockey team lost its second game of the weekend as the fell to the University of Louisville by a score of 2-0.
The loss drops NU to 2-5 on the season as they now prepare for their first conference game of the year against Michigan State. They defeated MSU earlier in the season, 2-1 in overtime, in a nonconference affair.
Stacy Spenser (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and Nicole Smith (Warnbro Western Australia.Como Senior) led the WIldcats in shots on goal with two apiece. Northwestern outshot Louisville 7-5 in the game.
Elisa Eshelman started the scoring for Louisville with 22 minutes remaining in the first half. She took a pass form Keri Beckman and fired a shot passed the outstretched hands of Jessica Yates (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest). Nine minutes later Allison Barkley broke away and shot from the top of the circle to make it 2-0 in favor of the Cardinals.
