EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University football team held its annual intrasquad scrimmage Saturday afternoon on the campus of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wis. The Wildcats lined up their top offense against the top defense, the second offense vs. the second defense, etc.
The first offense played without running back Damien Anderson and receiver Sam Simmons -- both of whom are nursing minor injuries -- and struggled against what is expected to be a powerful NU defense. The only touchdowns on the day were scored by the third offense under the guidance of Matt Danielson. The first was set up by a reverse to redshirt freshman Chris Brown, who scampered 55 yards on his only rush of the day.
