EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University men's tennis team lost to Notre Dame, 6-1, at the Johnson Tennis Center Sunday afternoon, 6-1, to close out a split for the weekend. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 4-6 for the 2000 spring campaign.

Notre Dame set the tone for the day, sweeping the doubles matches to take the day's first point, then winning five of the six singles matches to clinch the victory.

Josh Axler provided the lone highlight for NU, winning in straight sets at No. 4 singles over Javier Taborga (6-3,6-3). Jamie Sahara extended Andrew Laflin to three sets at No. 5 before falling (3-6, 6-0, 6-2).
