EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern has named its Athletes of the Week for November 27. The selections were made based on NU athletic competition from Nov. 20-26.
MALE -- Winston Blake, Basketball
Sophomore Winston Blake (Plano, Texas/Senior) paced the Wildcats offense last week with two 15 points performances as Northwestern went 2-0 in non-conference action. Blake added six rebounds and three steals to his career-high 15 points in the Wildcats' 56-33 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Wednesday. On Saturday, Blake repeated his new career high points performance and helped the 'Cats to a 64-42 victory over Vermont.
FEMALE -- Leslie Dolland, Basketball
Sophomore Leslie Dolland (Bloomington, Minn./The Blake School) led the 'Cats to a 77-63 victory over Northern Illinois to open the 2000 campaign, scoring a career-high 21 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Dolland was again a dominating force in the paint against Miami (Fla.), scoring 13 points to lead the Wildcats to a 56-48 victory over the Hurricanes.
