EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern Wildcat volleyball team fell to Michigan State, 3-0 at Jenison Field House. Northwestern falls to 5-24 on the season and 2-17 in the Big Ten. The Spartans improve to 17-11 overall and 10-9 in the Big Ten. Game scores were 15-3, 15-11, 15-1.

MSU got off to a quick start in game one, taking a 1-0 lead. NU would get within one (4-3), but the Spartans proved to be too much, scoring 11 straight points to win the game, 15-3.

The Spartans took a 6-0 lead in game two before the Wildcats could get on the board. The 'Cats managed to score six points to get within one (7-6), and keep the game close. MSU rallied to take a 13-8 lead before NU clawed its way back to within two (13-11). The Spartans turned up the intensity and scored the final two points to win the game.

Game three was all MSU, as they only allowed Northwestern to score one point. MSU hit .500 to NU's .097 in the final game.

Carmen Burbach (Columbus, Neb./Scotus Central Catholic) led the Wildcats' offense with 17 kills. Molly Kamp (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore) had 14 digs to lead the defense. MSU shut down the 'Cats at the net, outblocking them 12-3.

Erin Hartley had 16 kills to lead the Spartans.

Northwestern will close out the season Saturday, Nov. 25 at Michigan. Match time is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
