EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University football team will face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Alamo Bowl, December 30 at the Alamo Bowl (capacity 65,000) in San Antonio, Texas. It will be the fourth meeting between the two schools and the first in a bowl game. Nebraska owns a 2-1 record all-time against the Wildcats.

The Alamo Bowl will feature two of the top offenses in the country. Northwestern is ranked third in total offense, averaging 475.6 yards per game, and eighth in rushing offense (257.3 ypg). Nebraska leads the nation in rushing offense, averaging 349.3 yards per game, and is sixth in total offense at 460.0 ypg.

NU will begin bowl practice on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m., and continue preparations on Sunday and Monday before taking eight days off. The 'Cats will resume workouts on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The Wildcats anticipate leaving for San Antonio on December 23. All workouts are closed to the public. Coaches and players will be available to the media for interviews after the last practice of the day. Cameras may shoot the first 15 minutes of practice.
