
Women's Volleyball Falls at Iowa, 3-1

EVANSTON, Ill. - Despite 15 kills and 21 digs from senior Carmen Burbach, the Northwestern women's volleyball team fell to Iowa, 3-1, in Iowa City Friday night. Game scores were 15-8, 13-15, 15-7, 15-3 in favor of the Hawkeyes.
NU fell to 4-11 (1-4 Big Ten), while Iowa improved to 8-5 (4-1 Big Ten).
Burbach had a stellar evening, hitting .279. She was matched in the kill category by Sarah Ballog (who hit .294), while Lindsay Pavlik added 11 kills and had 15 digs. As a team, NU also had 1 block solo and 25 block assists, led by Erica Lange (8 BA), Ballog (1 BS, 4 BA) and Burbach (4 BA).
For Iowa, Sara Merymann had 22 kills and 20 digs, while Renee Hill added 13 kills and a match-high 22 digs.
Northwestern will be back in action Saturday night at No. 5 Minnesota, which saw its perfect record spoiled in a 3-0 loss to Wisconsin Friday night. The Wildcats' match with the Gophers begins at 7 p.m.
