Wrestlers Drop Dual to Eastern Illinois, 20-18

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern wrestling team dropped its fifth dual of the season to Eastern Illinois, 20-18, dropping its record to 3-5-1 on the season. EIU got major decisions from Jason Lawrence (149) and Mike Russow (Hwt) to lead the Panthers to a 20-18 win over Northwestern, Sunday afternoon (Jan. 16) at Lantz Gym.
Drew Pariano (Fairview Park, Ohio/Fairview) recorded a major decision over Frank DeFilippis at 157 as Tony Scacco (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond-Burton) and Steve Cordova (Heber City, Utah/Wasatch) both won at 165 and 125 respectively.
Nationally ranked wrestlers Mark Bybee (#9) (Naperville, Ill./North) defeated his opponent Louis Taylor 5-3 at 174 while #5 Scott Schatzman (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway Central) defeated #19 Don Pool 14-3 to improve his overall record to 18-2 and his dual record to a perfect 9-0.
