Women's Volleyball Looks to ?Spike The Attendance?

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University Department of Athletics, along with Pioneer Press Newspapers and True Value, are calling all fans to come out and help set a new Wildcat women?s volleyball attendance record at the Northwestern vs. Illinois match this Friday, Sept. 24.

All tickets will be sold for $1. The match will begin at 7 p.m. at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

?Spike the Attendance 1999? will not only feature exciting volleyball action, it promises to be a fun night for the fans with special promotions, giveaways and an opportunity to meet the players following the match for autographs.

Northwestern and Illinois are meeting for the first time this season. The Wildcats are looking to repeat last year?s performance against the Fighting Illini, when they got a win for the first time since 1990. The Fighting Illini are on a four-game win streak (4-2) and ranked 25th in the latest national poll. The Wildcats, meanwhile, enter the weekend 2-8 after splitting four matches in the Wildcat Classic.
