Volleyball Team Falls to Boise State

BOISE, Idaho - The Northwestern volleyball team lost a four-game decision to Boise State Saturday night in the consolation match of the Boise State Fall Classic in the Boise State Pavilion.
Boise State defeated the Wildcats 15-11, 15-6, 8-15, 15-11. The win gave the Broncos a third-place finish in their own tournament. The Montana Grizzlies were the tournament champions.
The Wildcats were led by Jennifer Zagorski, posting her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 17 digs. Carmen Burbach contributed 11 kills to the ?Cats offense.
The Broncos? Becky Meek had 15 kills while Tara Brinkerhoff added 14.
Zagorski was named to the all-tournament team. She joins Kodi Taylor and Erin Adams of Montana and Heather Osberg and Britt Whiting of Gonzaga and Tara Brinkerhoff of Boise State.
The Wildcats return to the court Friday, Sept. 18, beginning the home portion of their schedule with the Evanston Holiday Inn Wildcat Classic. The ?Cats will enter their tournament 0-6, as they host San Jose, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Louisiana State in the two-day event. The first match is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. when Oklahoma takes on West Virginia. The Wildcats will play San Jose at noon and Louisiana State at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
