Spikers Fall to Gonzaga, 3-2

BOISE, Idaho - The Northwestern women's volleyball team took undefeated Gonzaga to five games Friday night, but could not pull out the match in the deciding game and fell, 3-2.
Game scores were 15-9, 12-15, 15-5, 8-15, 15-10.
Northwestern dropped the first game, 15-9, but came back to hold the Bulldogs to .000 attacking percentage in the second game to win, 15-12. Gonzaga rallied back with a 15-5 win in the third game, but the Wildcats outhit the Bulldogs in the fourth game to win, 15-8.
The fifth game was taken by Gonzaga, 15-10.
Northwestern had four players finish with double figures in the kill category, with the duo of Carmen Burbach (15 kills, 13 digs) and Jennifer Zagorski (14 kills, 17 digs) leading the way. Kitty Owens (15 kills) Leah Ackerman (10 kills) helped the attack.
The Wildcats, now 0-5 on the season, return to the court Saturday, meeting either Boise State or Montana.
