Volleyball Ends Season With Loss to Ohio State

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's volleyball season came to an end with a 15-5, 15-2, 15-9 loss at Ohio State. Senior outside hitter Jessica Holloway (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon) had 14 kills. It was the 20th time this season that she reached double figures in kills. Holloway finished her career ranked sixth on NU's all-time kills chart (1,396). She concludes her career ranked third in all-time digs with 1,335.
Senior setter Liz Renius (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) tallied 37 assists in the loss to the Buckeyes. She finishes as Northwestern's all-time leader in assists with 4,743.
For the match, Ohio State outblocked NU, 23-1. The 'Cats only hit .188 for the match, while the Buckeyes swung away for a .421 hitting percentage (58-of-107 with 13 errors).
Despite two losses this weekend, the Wildcats still enjoyed their finest season since 1990. The team finished 15-17 overall, 5-15 in the Big Ten. The 15 wins is the highest total since 1990 and the five victories in the Big Ten is the highest conference win total since 1993.
