Notes: For the third-straight match and sixth time this season, senior outside hitter Jessica Holloway (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon) tallied a double-double, this time with 12 kills and 10 digs as Northwestern snapped a five-match losing skid with a 3-0 win over Indiana.
The Wildcats easily handled the Hoosiers, who received votes in this weeks AVCA/USA Today Coaches Poll. Sophomore outside hitter Carmen Burbach (Columbus, Neb./Scotus Central Catholic) also reached double figures in both kills and digs with 15 and 10, respectively. Senior setter Liz Renius (Temperance, Mich./Bedford), who strained her right knee over the weekend at Purdue, came back to record 43 assists in the win.
Senior outside hitter Jennifer Magelssen (Portage, Mich./Portage Northern) led the Hoosiers with a match-high 17 kills.
Northwestern improves to 12-7, 2-5 in the Big Ten. The Cats will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 16, at Minnesota. The match will be televised by ESPN and aired tape delayed on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 12:30 a.m.
