Women's Soccer Moves Up to Ninth Nationally

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's soccer team jumped two spots to No. 9 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released today. It is the highest ranking in program history. The Wildcats, 8-0-1 on the year and 4-0 in the Big Ten, were ranked No. 11 in last week's poll.

Northwestern is among the national leaders in several statistical categories. Their current nine-game unbeaten streak is third-best in the country and they are tied for the second-best winning percentage.

The 'Cats continued their winning ways last week, defeating Big Ten foes Iowa, 1-0, and Minnesota, 2-1. The Wildcats return home to Lakeside Field to face Illinois this Friday before traveling to Indiana on Sun., Oct. 4.
