Wildcat Volleyball Moving Up in National Rankings

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern volleyball team continues to progress under second-year head coach Kevin Renshler. For the second-consecutive year, the Wildcats have jumped out to a 6-2 start. This season's two losses have come at No. 10 Florida and at No. 11 Texas. The 'Cats have moved up to 27th on the latest AVCA/Sagarin Division I women's volleyball power ratings and received votes in this week's AVCA/USA Today Top 25 poll. The volleyball team makes its 1998 home debut this Friday and Saturday when it hosts the Evanston Holiday Inn Wildcat Classic at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The schedule for the tournament is as follows:
Fri., Sept. 18: Missouri vs. Lehigh, 9:30 a.m.; Northwestern vs. Towson, 12:00 p.m.; Lehigh vs. Mississippi, 2:30 p.m.; Towson vs. Missouri, 5:00 p.m.; Northwestern vs. Mississippi, 7:30 p.m.
Sat., Sept. 19: Towson vs. Mississippi, 9:30 a.m.; Northwestern vs. Lehigh, 12:00 p.m.; Missouri vs. Mississippi, 2:30 p.m.; Towson vs. Lehigh, 5:00 p.m.; Northwestern vs. Missouri, 7:30 p.m.
