EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern freshman Steve Steketee competed in the 100 and 200 freestyles at the 1998 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships last week at Auburn University.

He took 19th place in the 200 free on Friday with a time of 1:37.61 and took 24th in the 100 free on Saturday with a time of 44.21. Steketee won the 200 free at the Big Ten Championships last month at the University of Minnesota.
