Softball Splits Twinbill at Ohio State

Northwestern pounded out 23 hits in two games, but had to settle for a split in Saturday's doubleheader at Ohio State. The Wildcats took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning in game one, but the Buckeyes took control with two runs in the their half of the fifth and added four in the sixth. In game two, Northwestern used a four-run second inning to bolt to a 5-1 lead and they were never challenged. Junior shortstop Tami Jones (West Hills, Calif.) paced the 'Cats, going 5-for-6 in the two games with her first home run of the season. Sophomore Brooke Siebel (Brentwood, Tenn.) added her sixth home run of the year in game two.
