EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Evan Echmeyer scored 23 points and Sean Wink added a season-high 20, including six 3-pointers, in leading Northwestern to a 69-59 victory over Boston College on Wednesday night.

A Wink 3-pointer tied the game at 51-all, and Eschmeyer's two free throws put the Wildcats (6-2) ahead for good, 53-51.

The Eagles (3-7) trailed 55-53 when Wink hit back-to-back 3-pointers and then two free throws as the Wildcats opened a 63-53 lead with 1:43 left.

Trailing 35-29 at the half, the Eagles opened the second half with a full court press and pressure defense. They scored the first nine points after the break to go in front 38-35 on a three-point play by Brian Ross at 17:14.

The Wildcats, who didn't score for the for the first 5 minutes of the second half, tied it at 38-38 on Eschmeyer's three-point play. The teams then played fairly even until Wink began hitting from long range.

Kenny Walls paced Boston College with 16 points, but drew his fifth foul with 4:18 left. Clinton Sims added 11 points for the Eagles.

The Wildcats were up 18-8 in the opening half. The Eagles then outscored Northwestern 19-10, trimming the deficit to 28-27 on Walls' 3-pointer.
