Men's Tennis Faces Penn State in First Round

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's tennis team will be the No. 7 seed in this year's Big Ten Men's Tennis Championships, held at the University of Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, April 29-May 2. On Thursday the Wildcats will play 10th-seeded Penn State at 9 a.m. EDT. If they advance, they will take on second-seeded Michigan at 9 a.m. on Friday.
The 'Cats (9-11, 4-6 Big Ten) defeated Penn State, 4-3, on April 11. That was their most recent victory. Last year, Northwestern was a finalist at the Big Ten Championships with Illinois.
The Wildcats are ranked No. 39 in the country and are led by senior Doug Bohaboy (Palo Alto, Calif.), who finished the regular season with a No. 48 singles ranking and an 8-2 mark against conference opponents at the No. 1 singles position. Bohaboy and junior Martin Bengtsson (Stockholm, Sweden) are ranked No. 46 in doubles and have compiled an overall record of 17-10 together this year.
