Men's Basketball Schedule Announced

EVANSTON, Ill. - Seventeen regular season home games highlight the 1998-99 Northwestern Wildcats men's basketball schedule, released today by the Northwestern athletic department.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Kevin O'Neill, the NU men's basketball team looks to build upon its best Big Ten Conference finish since the 1986-87 season. The Wildcats return one of the nation's top centers in sixth-year senior Evan Eschmeyer, along with last year's Big Ten three-point champion in sophomore guard Sean Wink. NU opens the regular season schedule with nine of its first 10 games played at Welsh-Ryan Arena, including the season opener against Maine on November 17 as well as the Big Ten opener versus Iowa on January 3. The Wildcats also close the regular season at home vs. Minnesota on February 27.
