EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior women's basketball player Megan Chawansky (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) and senior men's basketball player Danny Allouche (Omer, Israel/West Valley) have been named to the GTE Academic All-District teams, as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is the first time that either student-athlete has received the honor.

Chawansky averaged 17.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this season, while maintaining a 3.23 GPA in her dual major of pyschology and women's studies. Last week, she was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection.

Allouche, who is averaging 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game this season, has a 3.78 GPA in economics. Both Chawansky and Allouche now advance to the national ballot for GTE Academic All-America consideration.
