
Men's Soccer Wins Second in a Row

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's soccer team earned its second win in a row Tuesday afternoon, defeating Valparaiso, 3-0.
The win improved the Wildcats to 4-13. They will close out the regular season Thursday at home against Michigan State, before the Big Ten tournament begins the weekend of November 12-14.
NU outplayed Valpo through much of the match, outshooting the Crusaders, 14-4. Grant Trimble got the 'Cats on the board in the 42nd minute, dribbling through the defense and slotting home a shot for a 1-0 halftime lead.
In the second stanza, Paul Van Huysen provided insurance when he converted a rebound in the 53rd minute. David DeHorn closed out the scoring at exactly 67:00, taking a through ball from Jun Kim for a breakaway.
In the goal, Chris Berlin made the start and gave way to the Big Ten's saves leader, Matt Keeler, at halftime. Both of them made two saves. For Valpo, Mike Sernel had 10 stops.
