The loss dropped NU to 2-12 overall on the season and 0-4 in the Big Ten. The Gophers remained unbeaten in the conference and improved to 13-3 overall.

Ballog was joined by Jennifer Zagorski, who had eight kills, and Leah Ackerman who had seven. But as a team the Wildcats managed just a .088 kill percentage, while Minnesota connected on 41 percent of their kill attempts.
