Notes: Even with five Wildcats hitting in double figures, the Northwestern Volleyball team could not clinch a much needed Big Ten win. The 'Cats outhit the Boilers .201-.132 in the 3-2 loss.
Game scores were 15-11, 15-12, 6-15, 9-15, 15-13.
The Wildcats came out with a balanced attack, recording 70 kills on 219 attempts. The 'Cats dug the ball 84 times, with five Wildcats in double figures. Northwestern dropped games one and two in very close contest. NU easily won games three and four holding the Boilers to .077 and .125 hitting percentages. In game five, Northwestern came from behind to cut the lead to 13-14 before Purdue collected the match winning point on a kill by Sarah Emke.
The Wildcats were led by Carmen Burbach and Jennifer Zagorski, each with 17 kills. Zagorski notched her 10th double-double of the season by adding 24 digs in the contest. Kitty Owen had 10 block assist as the Wildcats collected a season-high 32 block assists for a team-high 16 blocks. The Wildcats out-blocked the Boilers 16-9 in the loss.
The Boilermakers were led by Aneska Arosarena as she recorded 21 kills, 26 digs, three service aces and two block assists.
