Northwestern University named its Athletes of the Week for October 11, based on last week's performances.

Among the men, Luke Donald clearly stood out for his performance early last week. The junior, who is the reigning NCAA champion in golf, won his second collegiate event in as many outings this fall when he took first place at NU's own Windon Memorial. He shot a 4-under-par 209 for three rounds on the par-71 Conway Farms course to gain a five-stroke victory. His effort helped the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the team competition, four strokes behind Kent. Donald has won seven of the last 11 college competitions he has competed in dating back to last year.

On the women's side, junior Brooke Bell from the soccer team got the nod. In the Wildcats' 3-2 loss to No. 16 Michigan on Sunday, she scored a pair of scintillating headball goals. The first came less than a minute after the Wolverines had drawn first blood, while the second gave NU a lead. Northwestern could not hold on and fell. On Wednesday, the women were defeated by Marquette.
