Vehniah K. Tjong graduated from Queen’s University, Canada with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She then attended the University of Toronto, Canada for medical school, where she also competed her Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. She then made her way to Chicago, where she completed her Sports Fellowship at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Tjong is dual board certified in Canada (FRCSC) and in the United State (ABOS).

Dr. Tjong currently serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University; Northwestern University Varsity Athletics Team Orthopaedic Consultant; and Team Physician for the United States Soccer Federation - Women’s National Team.

Her clinical interests are focused on orthopaedic sports medicine with a special interest in:
  • Sports related muscle/tendon injuries
  • Multi-ligament knee reconstruction
  • Meniscal repair
  • Cartilage restoration
  • Patellar instability
  • Alignment osteotomies
  • Hip femoroacetabular impingement and labral
  • pathology
  • Acute rotator cuff tears
  • Shoulder instability
